Skit
Hey. Bet you didn't know about this fancy wheel? It shows what healthy, respectful relationships look like.
Oh my gosh really. My friend was just dealing with something like that. But why is it a wheel
Ninetynine percent of people report a problem of abuse in a friend or relative. But records show that warning signs are often missed. So, this wheel holds everyone accountable safely.
So, like me? I was totally missing the warning signs with my friend.
That's very common, and here are some things you can do to start to recognize it. And I'm not going to explain it. They are:
Hi. I noticed lately at school you seemed happy but when I drop you off at home you looked sad.
Really? No it's nothing really.
Are you sure?
No really nothing's wrong... but I can NOT be late getting home today.
Last time I dropped you off early!
I just can NOT be late getting home okay.
Okay... are you scared to go home?
[The next day]
Beep hey it's me. Why weren't you at school today, is everything okay? Where are you now?
[The next week]
Hi sorry me and my lover went gambling and I had to shut my phone off! Roaming charges :(
Gambling?
Yawns
You appear tired.
No really I'm yawning because I'm... so relaxed...
The cycle will come back around and when it does. Please call me.
I don't know what your talking about.
[The next day]
I was wondering if you want to go to school early today?
Sure I will pick you up in a hour.
Okay. See you then.
[At school]
I guess the school is kind of nice getting here early.
Yeah but that's not exactly why I asked.
Why? Is everything okay?
Not exactly. The things you asked me before... I am scared to go home sometimes... Most of the time...
I'm so sorry
[The two hug.]
SO WAIT. You told me all of that and there's not even going to be a way to actually help my friend. That process is so slow what if she's dead by then.
That's why the wheel is important. Think about how your perspective changed hers. Now imagine her doctor noticed, the teachers, or the security guard at school.
Wow I guess it really would be a more kind world that's for sure!
And a safe one too.

Questions: Do they appear happy at school but sad at home? Are they gone with that person sometimes, unable to reach out or seems to sometimes disappear? Are they tired or sad?
The cycle will come back around. BUT through shared power, fairness, and mutual respect, we can make our world a safer and kinder place
